Greatgames4u Review of Dragon Age Inquisition

Dragon Age Inquisition is the latest game to be released in The Dragon Age franchise. At Greatgames4u, we were eagerly anticipating the game as we had played Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age II, the previous games in the Dragon Age Franchise. We got a copy of the game and spent over 100 hours playing it. Yet at the end, there were tons of stuff left undone. The game gave us so many quests, side missions, a large map to explore and a lovely multiplayer. By the time we were done with it, we felt that we had truly gotten our money’s worth.

Story

The game starts off with you being the lone survivor of an explosion that creates a huge portal in the sky. Evil demons and creatures start to enter the world through that portal. You are the sole survivor of the explosion and the only one with the power to seal the portal. The story starts up from there. You can select between three classes. Mage, warrior and rogue. At Greatgames4u, we chose warrior.  The class you choose affects the story, dialogue and gameplay a lot. At Greatgames4u, we experimented with this and got different results.

The first 15 hours was monotonous and we didn’t enjoy it that much. But as the game progressed, the story peaked on and we found it hard to drop. There were lots of interesting quests. We were aided by advisors and companions. They distrusted us at first but we later gained their trust. If you haven’t played any of the previous Dragon Age games, you might find it hard to understand some things. We had to make various choices cum Mass Effect style. The choices affect the game in numerous ways. This makes up for numerous playthroughs of the game.

World

The world is the largest in the Dragon Age Franchise. It is much larger than Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age II. Greatgames4u team had so much fun exploring the world. The caves are not as annoying as before. Each area has its own set of missions and tasks. You will hardly run out of interesting things to do. The world is alive and so lovely to look at.

Gameplay

The center of the game is the headquarters of the Inquisition which is known as the Haven. It has a war room at its center. There you can plan missions, assign tasks and do other things. You will find a load of people and things there.

Players no longer regenerate health automatically in Dragon Age Inquisition. You have to regain your health from health potions. But you have to be careful, your companions will guzzle up the health potions without any consideration. We found this quite annoying when we were playing the game.

The old tactical combat style is reintroduced from Dragon Age Origins. You can head to a battle combat style. You can also switch to the tactical overhead view where you can control your companions and tell them what to do. At Greatgames4u, we played the game on a normal difficulty, so we had no difficulty playing the game full combat style. We only used the tactical view when we were faced with difficult enemies and dragons. The battles are quite intense. Some feature closed quarters combat while some took part in large areas.

You can send any of the three advisors to handle various missions for you. The missions can take any amount of time from minutes to lengthy hours. The time for each mission carries on even when you are not playing the game. You earn rewards as each mission is complete so you can turn on the game to be rewarded with a pleasant surprise.

Bottom Line

Dragon Age Inquisition is a beautiful immersive game with a large open world. At Greatgames4u, we couldn’t get enough of exploring the large expanse of the game. The game drew us in so much. We can’t wait to get back to it and explore the remainder of it.
